I got a gtech pro SS and i need the exact weight of my car for it to be accurate. Ive been looking all over for trucker weigh-in stations and cant find shit.
I cant just figure out the weight of my car either... ive replaced piping on the exhaust, replaced my rims, put in a stereo and all that so i cant calculate it.
Any ideas? im getting annoyied

The GTech pro's are an amazing piece of electronics, no hookups.... just plug it into your cigarette lighter and away you go.
I investigated it once and most of the measurements are based around sensors which detect acceleration.
With precise accleration detectors horsepower and speed can be calculated very easily.
There is some info you would need to input ( such as the weight ) and I'm not 100% sure but I belive it gets RPM levels from it's power supply.
The firing of spark plugs will create a small disruption in the power supply so if you take that signal and filter it you should be able to monitor the RPM levels.
So with RPM levels, car weight, accleration detectors and an internal clock all it's information can be calculated with decent results.
I'm sure it could be very accurate if some fine tuning is applied ( such as time at the track)

It doesnt take much... the RPMs are about 100-maybe200 off (closer to 100) once you get around 6k rpms...

Yea i bought one of these.... hmmm... it was very inaccurate for me. At the end of the quearter mile I was going 82mph, and the computer told me I did 64mph at the end of quarter mile. Also it gave me a hourse power of 48 first time I ran it, second time with better results it gave me 54hp.... it is very inaccurate and now I am selling it.
