aveo rods are forged?

Post by jidasas »

Did anyone ever prove that the Aveo came with forged rods? If so how much power would the forged rods from an Aveo handle compared to the cast rods of a Lanos? I want around 300 so if Aveo rods are cheaper for me and will get me that far then that may be the way I go.

I haven't heard anyone confirm this, I kind of doubt it.

The 1.6L is assembled in a korean Daewoo plant but who knows about the rods, Daewoo could simply source them from Holden ( probably the cheapest route ) which would mean they are the same rods that you would find in all the Opel/Vauxhall/Holden 1.6L engines.

I think the block is cast in Korea and I bet the exhaust manifold is also cast in the same place but other than that it's really hard to say what is made by Daweoo and what is made by Holden.
