Power Locks on Nubira

Post by smo »

Greetings,
The other day the power locks quit working on my 2001 Nubira if using the drivers door plunger. (On this model, pusing down on the drivers door lock plunger normally locks all doors, and lifting up on it unlocks all doors) Using the keyless entry still operates the locks.
Is this a common problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks much!

Nubira Power Locks

Post by kitmomma »

I've got the same problem with my 1999 Nubira. I replaced the battery in the power lock control on my keyring, but that didn't help. Sorry, I've got no solution, but I did see a comment in Google Groups that someone had a problem with rust on their slide bar in the door and the door wouldn't open because the slide bar couldn't fit through the slide hole. They had to remove the door trim, file/sand the slide bar, then WD40ed it. The door opened after that, but this isn't the problem we're facing. I'm wondering about fuses....

I think you have to replace a driver door actuator. This is a master for all door actuators and probably there is an issue with bad contats in this one.
