Running Two Extra Speakers

Post by BosnianLanos »

Last night I finished soundproofing my new Lanos and I must say, I am quite impressed. Sound quality has gone way up and the car sounds like a luxury car on the road. Very little road noise at all. Could get kinds scary if you get sleepy on the highway.

I was also pleasantly surprised to find how much room is in the area behind the plastic in the back seat of the hatch. So, I had the idea to put another set of speakers in there, running the grand total to 6.

I just want to know what would be the proper way to wire in two EXTRA speakers. These will be just regular two-way speakers like the ones in doors and hatch are. Probably 5.25's or 6.5's.

So, will I need to run crossovers to give me some sort of extra output for them, or should I get some sort of larger amp? Help!

deadening

Post by woodae »

Good call one the deadening and i felt the quiet sleepy thing the crazy way. I was turning on to the highway, And now i find that since it is so quiet you sorta feel like you are going slower then you are. I was doing 90 in the on ramp, when i realized my speed was too fast then, my ass end kinda slid out faced the ditch, i have a steering nob since my arm is paralyzed and thats what saved the accident in progress, i slide the other way then i was facing the highway divider then i spun the steering nob back and forth like crazy till i came out. man being tired in a quiet car sucks. but overall deadening makes it easier to talk to people with a loud stereo, For the speakers what kinda deck do you have? and what kinda amps and channels on them?
