I would make sure it had the ability to be disconnected easily. I have had my Lanos for about 24 days and I've needed/wanted my stereo disconnected twice. I'm glad I didn't have to unsolder it to get it out. :)

I don't know what BP plugs are, but the 'plugs' part sounds like something I would choose over solder.

These are bp connecters, they screw onto the wire, and you can get 1 screw ones and 2 screw ones.

all i did (before the components and amp) is cut the wires going to the speakers and connect the wires straight to the new speakers, its easy. i have all new 14 guage speaker wire running all through my car now

Atm im thinking plugs would be the easier option though because all i have to do is screw the wires on to the plugs

I always used screw in type wire connectors. Not quite the same as you are planning on using but have the same idea. Personally i think soldering inside the car is a bit of a pain in the ass and I like to be able to unscrew the connections easiely without getting out a soldering iron. Go with the screw type IMO.

Thanks for the advice, also is it possible the wires can break when screwed down and it there such a thing as screwing them too tight?

It is possible for them to break but it doesn;t usually happen. Just make sure they are tight enough so that they dont slip out.

Well, I say solder them.
Sometimes you dont get full contact through connectors when they go together, and with HI-FI in cars, you can sometimes draw a lot of current momentarily. Eventually through heat-effect and oxidization.... they get worse. if you not ripping it out every now and again.. Man, i would solder them, and shrink sleeve the connection.

Before i removed the stock speakers i noticed that they had plugs as well, so im guessing plugs are the better option because they stay together, anyway this is just my opinion, ive got them now and will be putting them on today so we will see what happens.
