Hi everyone, i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to remove the steering wheel, the handbrake cover and the shift boot on my lanos, i am half way with the shift boot but i thought id get your opinons guys to please help, and we can use this as a future reference for everyone that needs to know.

to remove the Handbrake Cover you must do folowing:
2 screws in front part of the plastic, sorrunding the shifter
2 screws in the rear part of the plastic in the middle of the seats side
then discconect then in the middle (near the windows control)
u will see another screw in the middle that holds the first part of the plastic
discconect the plugin for the windows
start removing the plastic
(i advise you to remove the shifter before you remove the first part of the plastic)
about the weel i never did it so i cant help u

and about the painting!
buy good (not cheap) spray on sintetic base! it must be combined with the primer mix! (the primer is the thing that u spry on plastic before u spray paint! when the primer is dry than u use paint)
then in fast and shot waves spray the surface! do it patient and slow (like with a woman)
one layer after another!
if u cant find the right sintetic combined spray search untill u find it! ask in the stores for "spray for plastic" make shure it can stand heat! if spray sucks then u might get bubles and other ugly stuff!

Thanks for the info, with the handbrake cover, i have no power windows etc so i cant follow those instructions to the point, does anyone know how to take it off simply and also still waiting for the shift boot and steering wheel how to on how to take it off

dude! you got my desc. on top of page! use it and u can remove the PLASTIC, not the handbrake! like said i desent mater do u have or not auto windows!chris2511 wrote:So i just take off that panel with the 4 screws and i should be able to take the handbrake off? u have 5 screws! the last screw in in the middle of thge two plastics. but u maust first remove the shifter sorounding plastic!
Steering wheel and gear boot removal...

With the steering wheel, just pop off the horn button with a flat nose screwdriver. Behind that is a nut which is easily removed with a tyre wrench. The next part is quite tricky, you have to lever it off with a large screwdriver (or something similar). Use a bit of force as it wont be easy. Or before that just try banging on the steering wheel side to side or top and bottom while someone pulls on it.
With the gear boot, just pop off the bottom base (just clipped in). The old boot is held on by staples so just pop them off with a litte flat nose screwdriver or pointy nose pliers. The top has a cable tie holding it on which can be removed with wire cutters.
