remote start Qs

Post by kinkyllama »

First off lemme say my Dad looked for a remote start locally for me and was qouted $300-600 installed if they would even do it since its a m/t, i know thats a rip so local places are out of the question

Anyways I already have a viper alarm that i'm happy with.. no need for any extra features there. I just need a remote start to add to it that will work with a m/t (clutch has to be in to start normally) but am having trouble finding only that part. What the hell should I look for and what would be involved in installing it?

I know the saftly concerns that are involved... i very very rarly park my car outside and never put it in gear when its parked.

check ebay, also i have a codealarm alarm and remote start that cartunes installed for me for $150, $300-$600 is a total joke. the only thing is you will have to bypass your clutch switch, then you could install it your self

i know for a fact the lanos will not start unless the clutch pedal is down... i guess you can wire-around that, but it seems like a pain in the butt to me.

You may have a bit of trouble finding a place to install it... A friend of mine wanted one on his manual, and no place he could find would install it... but i'm sure theres someone who would do it...

Just wondering if you got your remote starter installed?
I installed my remote starter on my 2000 Lanos M/T.
Wasn't difficult at all.
Let me know if I can help.

Luckicly I have a manual that I don't have to push the clutch in for :) So I guess I'd be right to get one, eh? :P
