Antena booster?

Post by ChiPPy »

Does anyone know if the Optra 5 / Reno have an antena booster for the window antena? I am asking this because I am not sure if I need to conect the booster wire from my new deck or not. I know a lot of window antenas do require a booster, but I was not sure in this case. While I'm at it, does anyone know what type of antena adapter I will need for the aftermarket deck, or should the factory plug fit in the aftermarket deck without an adapter?

Thanks for the link, but I'm not looking for an antenna booster, I'm just wondering if my car already has one from the factory.

The radio does not require any special antenna adapter for your aftermarket unit, however, I am unable to answer if there is an antenna booster built into the car or not as I have never had the pleasure of working on an Optra / Reno.

Thanks for the feedback Oz, much appreciated. I guess I'll find out as soon as I install the deck. I'll post my findings. If I remember, I'll even take some pictures for a mini how to for the Optra 5 / Reno.

That would be great! The more How-To's we have for the forum, the better it is for everyone here. :)
