Removing the warning buzzer

Post by patrick3002 »

Hey i was wondering how to remove the warning buzzer on my 1991 pontiac lemans, everytime i start the car it goes off, or if i leave my lights on, or dont put my seat belt on right away, its very annoying and takes too long to go off. Can anyone help me find this stupid thing and remove it. hehehe thanks!

check the fuse box... maybe there's a fuse just for the warning bell, if you find it, just remove the fuse and you should be set.

Yes. It is a rectangular box about 1.5X1.5X 2.5 under the dash just above where your left leg is while driving. Simply unplugs from a multi-blade connector.

It's the FIRST thing I removed when working on our LeMans; WAY to loud and an obnoxious tone.

My Lanos & Leganza are the first 2 cars I have NOT removed the buzzer! LOL

I usually remove it and zip tie it under the dash, so if I ever sell the car, I can just put it back in without it getting lost.
