my shifter plan...

Post by Audacity Racing »

i've been toying with the idea of making a new shifter for the woo. i have spent tons of time looking at the short shifters and all that jazz... and have come up with my own idea instead. it's no shorter... just awesome (imo).

all of the buttons will work... be it meth, exhaust butterfly, launch, purge, passing lights, etc... all the buttons will work

comments? i'm figuring i'm gonna get bashed pretty hard for it... but i think it's awesome... and it feels really nice. it will be a joy to shift the woo with such an installed feature

hehe...how about entire gear-by-wire system?? Now, that would be cool, if its going to be setup in a sequential type.

That's actually a pretty cool idea. Along with that shifter get tons of gauges all over the dashboard, people will think it's a plane!! lol

hmmm.... tom... you have me thinking...

the x-trac touring car tranny fits the woo. it's seq. it can be outfitted with the hydraulic/electric clutch...

pull the trigger, move the stick... PIMP!

hook the clutch switch to the anti-lag on my twins... 2x PIMP!

i bought it

i already have the buttons mapped too

trigger - NOS spray (intercooler)
middle thumb button - NOS spray saftey
left, top button - purge
right, top button - alcohol (methanol)
xy button y-axis - up: anti-lag on, down: anti-lag off
xy button x-axis - left: exhaust butterfly open, right: exhaust butterfly close

the xy button has momentary switches on all four directions. it will do nicely for what i'm gonna set it up for.

the exhaust butterfly is an open/close thing cause it is just a simple motor on the butterfly.

What about the button that shoots the hellfire missiles?!

Or the one that drops tacks if someone is tailgateing you?!

LoL, I had too.

I like the idea alot, it should work well if you can get all the wiring to not get ripped from constant shifting.

5spd...

the reason i went with this particular one is that it's military grade. a joystick from a computer or playstation wouldn't be as sturdy. they are usually injection molded plastic. the one i got is plastic wrapped around an aluminum core.

i'm taking the lock off, i'm not really worried about going into reverse...

if i find myself slipping into a lot by mistake... i'll instal a warning light that's on the same circuit as the reverse lights at the rear.

and it'll have ejector handles... the two loops behind the seat
