Well, after 7 years of the crappy 20 Watt Daewoo OEM CD player that didn't play CDs and had terrible FM reception, I finally upgraded to a Panasonic head unit.
I already had new speakers all around since my stock paper cone ones fell apart from the sun long ago and with the new Panasonic, the sound quality went up at least 500% and the bass from the rear metallic cone 6.5's makes them sound like small subwoofers which is a big plus because I really don't want to add weight and lose trunk space by putting in woofers and an amp.
However, the front 4.5s leave something to be desired. While the treble is fairly good, the bass is non existant, so it makes my ears ring when it gets to like halfway volume.
I would like to replace the front tiny ones with the same 6.5s I have in the rear deck (sedan).
So, will 6.5s fit or will i have to go with like 5.25s or what. Also, with 6.5s and the MDF ring, will i be able to put the stock plastic trim over them without having to hack up my door?
I would go out and try this now, but it is 95 F with 100% humidity so there is a good chance that I would die.
