I need fuse help!

Post by delphis »

ok so I was on my way to work this morning when all of a sudden all of my inside lights went out, except for the blinkers and seat belt light in the cluster, but all of my other lights went out, spedometer fuel temp and hvac controls all have no light, but my manual is at home and i want to replace the fuse on my lunch, can someone tell me what fuse it is so I can swap it out? thanx!

ps all of my removable plastic peices are out of the car too because i know it has them listed on the inside of the cover, but that is sitting at home with a fresh coat of paint on it.

i don't know about your car type man but on my 1.5 Lanos the feus you are talking about is the top right fuse in the bunch of fuses at the kick panel area... its a 10AMP fuse BTW.

ok so that wasn't the fuse or either that or it is a wiring issue.

wiring problems are the worst cause they arent always easy to fix and sometimes require additional auto electrical help, which may incur a monetary exchage

well I got no love, I hope it is the fuse and not electrical, because otherwise I have to use a lighter to see how fast I am going!

well I found the out which fuse it is and replaced it even though the other one isn't bad, but still no luck. It's not only the lights in the dash that are out either the one for the hvac controlls have no light behind them or the little light that is right underneath the cup holders. All of the other indicators work in the dash such as blinkers and door open light but just nothing behind the gauges, do you think a bulb could have gone bad and it might be on a series wiring job and if I replace the bulb that it could fix the problem, well I will try some things out tommorow.

well... the bulb system runs in parallel... so if one bulb went bad... the rest would all still light. it sounds like the"hot" wire going to the lighting system is jacked up somwhere. could it be the switch?

it might be but the light bubld for under the automatic transmission still comes on when I turn the lights on, it's just everything in the dash.
