ECU compatibility should be confirmed by part number.

It's quite normal to have a high idle when car is coasting over 20 km/h.
First check engine coolant temperature sensor and oxygen sensor for you bad fuel mileage. Then check MAP sensor, fuel pressure and injector performance.
Are your spark plugs sooted?

Of course the basic maintenance is already done.

Too rich mixture.

Very last thing to do! Seldom guilty.
But check the 8digit part number on the ECU sticker for compatibility.

Does engine speed comes back to normal around 850RPM at full stop?

Not a clue about reprogramming ECU.

So you idle speed is normal now. Good!
---------------------------------
Temperature problem?
Is coolant level OK? Clogged radiator? Defective thermostat? Oil/water mix (mayonnaise)? Bubbles/high pressure in surge tank? White exhaust smoke?
...

There are 5 marks on temperature gauge. Where was the needle gauge when fan started + check light?
You can read stored error code(s) by mean of the "paper clip" method.

radiator not clogged
no mixing in water and oil
tank door ok
no white smoke

when fan start needle gauge is in level 1 and check light turned on
when fan stop and check light off needle gauge is under mark 1(between first and mark 1 in white area)

Then A & B connected and ignition ON the check engine light must flash. At least code "12".
In my terrestrian world I'm afraid I can't help you any further my friend.
