speedo is going crazy please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok here is the deal this doesn't happen all the time but is starting to happen more often. When I'm going down the road the speedodometer will show a bunch of crazy speeds and then go to zero. It will sit on zero for a while and then work fine then it will crap out again a couple of days later. Has anyone had this problem or atleast tell me what could be the problem? thanks in advance.

Just an idea, but maybe the contacts on the plugs on the back of your guage cluster need cleaning.

Perhaps the speed sensor is starting to go bad and is sending erratic signals.

Is your car still under warranty?

is it a leganza? if so go check out your local dealer if its still under warenty... some leganza and even some nubira's have that from time to time ... as far as i know ya need to replace the meter in the cluster

it's a 2000 lanos. where is the speed sensor located?

its on top of the tranny thowards backside of car even though im not sure if you can c it whitout going under car
