before i can help you we need to work out what port you have

if it looks like this than it a aldl one
Image

if it has a d style plug with 16 pins it more likely to be a OBD2

yeah, it is the later model lanos with the obd2 plug, but some places (websites, books/manuals etc) say its eobd (or eobd2) which is apparently different to obd2... but moving on...

so u just installed the software connected it thru an interface and it actually gave u some readings?

did u buy EFIlive or did u happen to stumble upon a copy on t'internet as we occasionally do? lol

V4 is for ALDL but if you go to http://www.efilive.com/download.htm

what i think is diff is is a ALDL in a OBD2 plug
so it could look like this

Image
my bet is it a aldl in a obd2 plug it is common over here as obd2 come in to force a few year ago

see if ther is gold/silver pins i every one coz as far as i know obd2 plug are all connect?(i might be wrong)

Ths program really only support GM - the Lanos plugin xml is written by a third party and isnt supported.
I got the program and ran on lanos and the read outs were way off. rg emgine temp was going up and down quickly with acc'ting.

Also they chaged the ecu from year to country. Mine is a 16240269 DWEC ( sticker on the ecu) and I cant get any information on the data stream from this to adjust for the readings..

Hi guys,

I am facing following problem. Have bought an ALDL -> USB cable and I am trying to read the ECU from my Daewoo Leganza. With no luck what so ever :(. I have run a diagnose program for ALDL cables and it says the cable is OK. When I connect it to the car's ALDL connector, and start EFILIVE4, the program simply hangs !!!

Did any of you encounter this problem ? If so, how did you get over it ? May this be only a wrong setting ?

Thanks and all the best.

Hi everybody,

I have a Lanos 1.6 (2000).
I've made an ALDL(8192/160) to Serial interface (the GM version with MAX232) and download the EfiLive V4, but something doesn't work :?. The program validates the interface, but it can't communicate with the ECU. (Log: Chatter not expected, Chatter not found). I've tried to use lanos, daewoo and nubira xmls, but nothing changes.

I would be grateful if somebody could show me an operable interface with software. (I've the full version of EfiLive V4; Car's connector is a 12-pin ALDL)

Thanks 4 help!

this might sound silly but did you build the ALDL interface correctly,

I made it based on this circuit: http://www.home.aone.net.au/~techedge/v ... 92schm.gif
Here is my interface. I think it's correct, so I've no idea what's wrong...

Do you have this type of interface too?
