Brakes lights won't come off since fender bender

Some ass hit my driver side fender... I'd say a + from a fender bender, nothing to bad. Ever since my brake lights won't come off even with the keys out. Wtf could this be? It's not like there were wires in that fender and everything looks fine.

it prolly jarred something loose in the brake light switch, take a look at the brake peddel, you will see a switch that contacts the peddle arm, see if the small button is moveing or not, hell they are easy to replace, if you can get a new one

Yep just started looking into that.

There is a nut that adjusts where the pedal sits then the button that controls the brake lights. It's such a pain in the ass to get under there so can you tell me if the brake light button is adjustable or if I'll have to do the pedal adjustment bolt?

I don't think the switch itself is adjustable. Maybe the pedal. But why would your pedal have moved?

My bet is that the fender either cut or scraped the brake light wire and is now grounding it so that it is on all the time. Take off the fender before you do anything to make sure there is no wire damage.

Okay okay...I don’t know how the hell this happened.

When I push down that little button the lights do go off so all it needs is to be adjusted. I guess it was a coincidence that it happened the day of the accident. Problem is if I adjust the pedal to the max it's still sort. I really don't understand how this has happened. I can either slightly bend the metal piece or use automotive double sided tape but keeping one side with that stripping on it. I only need a couple MMs. I tried both of those methods for about 30mins before I gave up. Working in that small space is impossible and kills my back so I’m going to make one of my friends do it. Haha.

Both are quite possible lol Dunno why when it's maxed it's still not properly fixed.. doesnt make sense :/

Maybe the accident caused some damage to the subframe or firewall? I doubt it, but you never know...worst case scenario.

hell your skinny anough, climb up in there. ive been in the foot well of my lanos MANY times, i know it sucks but it has to be done

Flip the seat right back, and lie down lol. Get some support for yer upper nek if you're gonna be there a while. I was doing a clutch cable on my friends nexia and my neck was killing me. ALso had al sorts of stones, dirt and grit in my hair by the time i was done.

Not a nice experience but has to be done!

So I go out to fix the brake lights and they work perfectly. I just drove the car down the driveway to switch places with my lanos. I started it up an hour later to put it in the other garage bay and the brake lights don't work at all.

I've also been having that overheating issue (from another thread)...well I let the car reach operating temperature while idling and started revving it mildly to see if the fans would come on or if it would start to overheat. According to the temp gauge it started cooling off

Could this be related to my hacked up engine harness and/or busted piggy back unit?
