Hi, I was wondering how to get the airbag off the stock steering wheel on the lanos as I want to put another wheel on in the future...i have the haynes/max power guide and they go through it with a corsa, but it says "look for retaining screws behind the airbag", but no matter where I look behind the wheel, I cant seem to find them...unless i am looking in the wrong places, lol...anyways, help would be appreciated
before i tell ya you do know you airbags are all disabled and the eirbag light will light up?
Well ok then,
the screws you are looking for are at the back of the wheel indeed there are 2 small plastic caps you need to pry loose and behind it the screws are hidden.
WARNING: Unhook your batery before doing this and wait 5-10mins otherwhise you risk the airbag going off
yeah i know about the light...i have the haynes/max power manual and it said that if u connect a 5amp fuse to the connector plug (in the steering column, not the airbag itself) via 2 wires, the light should go out. If the light was on in the MOT, I would fail it, lol
Thanks for the answer
P.S. I took the dash and round the ignition off the oher day because I was bored and was curious as to what was behind all the plastic, lol...anyways, you should have seen me trying to get the screws out of the bottom of the ignition housing...i had the drivers seat as far down as it would go (I.E. like I was going to sleep) and I had to sit on it the wrong way - feet up at the headrest, and my head under the steering wheel column, lol...i can see me doing that again for the wheel
When I was installing my sound system, I took out my front seats. Then my manager drove by me... he thought someone was stripping down my car cause I put the seats outside on the ground... lol
