Yes, the Lanos does have a rev limiter, as I have hit is many times :D
If I remember correctly, it is built into the ECU and can not, or can not easily be disabled. :(

lets cut this short:

1- Daewoos got rev limiter set to 6500RPM.
2- only way to remove it is to get a piggy back (SMT6 or so).
3- if you managed to remove the rev limiter - or set it at higher limit to be accurate - then you will not gain any power whatsoever, actually you might be going slower as the power band for our stock engines drop like a rock after 6000 RPM
4- going over 6500 RPM will make your valves more volunrable to float and might hit the pistons, engine damage will be eminent at this point.
5- if you decided to enforce your engine to handle the extra RPMs then you will pay a shit load of money to do that but still you will gain no extra performance.
6-if you decided to heavly mod the engine to produce more power past the 6500 RPM limit then the cost of this project will be miles higher than other convensional mods that costs less as in swapping a C20LET or C20XE.

to cut it even shorter: tampring with the rev limiter on a stock engine is the worst idea in the history of bad ideas.

go for the cheap/effective way... throw out all the unnecessary stuff to reduce weight for starters.

...Bigger tires? thats a very easy way to increase the top speed. Going from 225/45/16 to 205/40/17 dropped my possible top speed approx 4mph and thats just changing width for the most part.

If you want a more effective way then change the f.g.r

no problems man... actually some people mix the EGR kicking in with a governer so mixup happens sometimes.

That's not the rev limit... unless you're in 4th gear. 185 km/h... thats 115 mph. in 4th gear on the rev limit i can reach that, but then shift into 5th and the engine just doesnt have the power to move the car any faster. What size engine do u have? cos i have a 1.3 and get pretty much the same results. not sure where i'm goin with this, but if u wana go faster... get modding! new exhaust... new manifolds (intake and exhaust)... drop the suspension in an attempt to get some better aerodynamics. cold (and i mean cold) air intake system. maybe lighten up the car by removing the rear seats if u have a 3-door.

just a few suggestions.

I am 100% sure... as it was ME driving the car when I did it. Of course the rev counter was just over 6000 RPM... but it does go that far.
