A/C problem
Well I'm almost at 60k miles on my 04 suzuki forenza and the A/C went out on me. All day it was blowing ice cold in 100+ degree weather than tonight it suddenly stopped blowing cold air, only cool. There is a strange sound coming from around the glove box area as well that wasn't there when the A/C was working. Other than that I don't have any other details to give.
Can anyone think of anything on such little info? I really dont know a dang thing about A/C.
Thanks,
Danny

Well I've never changed the air filter, I guess I should try that. Where is it?MMamdouh wrote:could be the blower?? maybe something restricting the air passage or so??... not really sure

well, i would say the hose that connects to the blower motor is as mmammy said, blocked or the hose has vibrated loose and its not letting the cold air come through, and how i am thinkin youmay be low on freon , or its leaked out. and if the hose is not connected to the box, no cold air , but i would first see if there is even a belt on the thing first, just incase its fell off or something.

Everything appears okay under the hood. I dont know anything about the a/c so I dont know where else to look. I think I'm just going to take it to a shop.
It's 109degrees F today and is supposed to be 112 tomorrow and Saturday

This probably isn't the problem, but what i found out is... if you push the car and rev the engine too high when the a/c compressor is running, you can blow the seals, thus, no A/C anymore, thats how my step dad killed my AC before i got the car... I had to replace the Compressor, which took like 30 minutes and add more freon... Just thought i'd lend my 2 cents...
(this normally has to be done several times before the seals will blow)
But it sounds more like a blower motor issue... Happened in my dad's truck...
As for the 112 degree (last i saw while i was on my way out with my girlfriend) heat here today, i was feeling it, my friends fuse popped in his 240sx at around 2:30pm, and that fuse that popped controlled the window motors, AND the A/C.... So we couldn't roll down any windows, OR have A/C... whoever thought that up to put them on the same fuse was an idiot... but whatever... We were in the oven at like 120 degrees Farenheight mmmm toasty...

Damn I never knew that. I know as soon as I get my a/c fixed I'll probably redline it right out of the shop but I should really be more carful then.Aneab wrote:This probably isn't the problem, but what i found out is... if you push the car and rev the engine too high when the a/c compressor is running, you can blow the seals, thus, no A/C anymore, thats how my step dad killed my AC before i got the car... my car has been down for about 3 months since i ruined the transmission pan and bent the exhaust, just got the car running again... For now until i get a new exhaust it's gonna be for short distances... I saw you about 4-5 days ago when i was in my GF's Scion... Your car looks wicked bad ass at night... let alone in the daylight, i told her to chase you down, but she wouldn't... lol... I work at the best buy at Paradise Valley Mall, so if you ever go down there to pick something up, my car might be there... to which you can come by and laugh at how crappy she looks at the moment lol The car is very dirty and has a lot of junk in it because i've yet to clean it in a while My buddy would have his 240sx in the back of the store he works in mobile install, not much to look at yet either as the paint is Maaco, but he's got some nice tires, and some simple engine mods... I think you'd like talking with him... His name is Derek, works most weekdays... I work every weekday morning 9:45am-3pmkinkyllama wrote: Damn I never knew that. As for the A/C, yeah when you get it fixed just don't push the car with the A/C on as much, but when it's off the compressor doesn't start charging up so you shouldn't blow any seals then... so rev as high as you want with it off as long as you're alright with how high it's going...
My compressor looked brand new when i pulled it out... but the seals were blown because of hard driving probably mostly from me accelerating to get on the freeway, and mixed with my step dad's lead foot driving... So whenever i go to accelerate fast now, i turn off the A/C... lol... not only do i get a little bit of HP back, but i don't run the risk of eventually ruining my compressor again...
I don't think daewoo has a testing facility in Arizona, or any hot hot desert ...

I'm actually going to be stopping by the mobile install to have them hook up a rear speaker they forgot to hook up and have them test a couple wires to see what I blew in the trunk.
Well I looked at it and other than two wires theres nothing to look at to see if somethings out of place. Everyone keeps telling me to see if the hoses can disconnected, what hoses? Other than the one metal one (i think it's a/c) under the hood I dont see anything.No1_spaceman wrote:Hey Kinky,
As far as I can remember, the A/C is under the passenger side Glove Box. The Filter is there too. Have a look around it make sure everything is okay first.
All the best,
Spaceman.

To be honest, i don't think i've ever seen it posted about the A/C Seals here... and as for your car being dirty, It shows you love to drive or were lazy =P...kinkyllama wrote: Oh damn I didnt know that happened. If Derek is at instal when you bring your car in (he's the only Asian in the bunch, tell him who you are) He'll know who you are, probably by your car because of how much i talk about the things you're doing that give me hope for my car... But he's an excellent guy and really into his work...
Just tell me when you're coming in, so if i'm working i can take my break and go back and see your car and say hey and everything... and if i'm not working, i may just stop by and check everything out anyway.

our cars are smart... they disengage the A/C compressor when the engine goes to hi revs... i have solid confermation on that so hi revs can't harm the A/C.
