Car shuddering - Electrical related?

Post by norbie »

My car stutters sometimes when I turn the engine on, usually after having the battery disconnected for a while, and today I was powering a PC off it when it was turned off for about 1 hour.

After a bit of revving the shuddering stops and the car is baack to normal.

Is this because the battery is low?

Well... if you had the battery unplugged for a bit... the shuddering would be your car attempting to do an idle learn process. I suppose it's possible that if you didn't allow it to do an idle learn process, you might get more of that studdering.

I can't find any info about that on a web search, what exactly does that do?
