need wiring help for reverse indicator light!

i'm planning on changing my shift knob for the 3rd time and i'm not sure if it will work with the reverse safety lock i'll have to wait till it comes in and see.

here's what i want to do. wire in a led light on the dash or center console somewhere and tap into the reverse lights that way it will light up when in reverse. i just need to know where to pick up the reverse light wire at. i have an 00 lanos 1.6L hatchback. thx.
