Water and oilpressure to the ECU?

Post by john s »

Does the ECU need the watertemperature and oilpressure sensor?. I want to change them to the ones from the c20ne engine. But i guess they wont work with the ECU. So does the ECU get any info from those sensors?.

John,

On the C20GET, you need to keep the CTS Sensor (Coolant Temp Sensor) that goes into the thermostat housing - this is what is providing the engine temp to the ECU. You can, however, replace the dashboard sensor with the one from C20NE - that one goes underneath the distributor cap.

As far as the oil pressure goes, I have replaced the factory unit with the one from Kadett Gsi w/digidash, so I can get the proper oil pressure reading on the digidash.

Take care!
