courtesy lights and keyless entry
hello guys,
well i have been working majorly on my leganza sx trying to fix it to running condition. currently the one of the major things wrong with it is that niether the courtesy lights on the inside or the trunk work. this is a big inconvience since i stop alot at night to change cds. this occured when i change the bulb in the dome light. it worked for 5 seconds then when i got back in the car (after closing the trunk) it no longer work. none of them worked. another major problem with my sx is that the keyless entry is not working. the batterys are brand new and the light flashes when i press the button but the car does nothing. i am completely lost and have no idea where to start. i know that is a daewoo dealer ship in vancouver some where (a friend told me today) and if required i can go there once it moves again (different problem different forum). so if you could at all help i would greatly appreciate it.
thanks again

sorry to leave you hangin... i didn't even realize no one had replied...
did you use the wrong kind of bulb and blow the fuse? check that...
also, check the wires coming from your keyless reciever... i dunno where it is on the leganza, on the lanos... it's beside the e-brake. it's the only box on the bar with a little antenna sticking out of it... pretty obvious once you spot it. anyway, i'm sure someone has a wiring diagram or a service manual and can tell you which wires go to the electric lock motors. since the lights blink, it has to be something between the box and the locks...
good luck!
***edit - does the light flash on the remote? or does the car flash its lights??? i just re-read it and wasn't sure...

You said it quit working when you closed the trunk? I'd check for a loose wire that may have shorted and burnt the fuse (at/in the trunk), and check for a burnt fuse w/ the keyless remote entry. I went to change a fuse in my car for the radio, and found 2 more that were burnt - although I have no idea what they went to

when it comes to internal lights, my door lights, cigarette lighter, glove box light, interior light and boot light went last night. I had to replace the ciggarette lighter fuse and the electric arial fuse. Other then that, check your globes

checked all fuses on;ly found 1 that had to be replaced which was the antenna fuse which i dont believe cound have been the problem. in not sure could have been (cant check it. battery is dead).as soon as i get a new battery charger ill charge it up and check it. but im pretty sure that wasnt the only problem. now that i think about it the antenna stop working when my lights and remote stoped working. its possible that that was the problem. not likely but not impossible. ill check back when my battery is charged.
soon to have my daewoo back on the road.

well after charging the battery yesterday i discovered that the one fuse in question fixed both my courtesy lights, antenna, and keyless entry. so except for my valves im in good shape i should have the money to fix my valves on wednesday and im gonig to go out and buy my new intake in 4 weeks. so ill be riding in style.
soon to have my daewoo back on the road.
