The box under the seat?

Post by delphis »

I have this big black box/housing under my passenger seat anyone know what's housed in there?

And one other thing anyone know where they sell the covers for the bolts that hold the front bucket seats down and the one for the inner side of the rear hatch?

that is your ECU under the passenger seat. and as for the covers you can just go to a local junk yard for that for probably like a couple of dollars or so, at the most each, since its such a small item.

If you don't know what the ECU is, that is the Electronic Control Unit, or, the computer. That is the main computer that regulates just about everything in the car. It may also be called the ECM (Electronic Control Module) by some people. Others call it the brain box ... LOL ... anyway, you need it to keep the car running so you can't just get rid of it.

I have a 2000 silver Lanos Hatchback, I think it has a 1.6 but I am not fully sure(i used to want to mod my car a long time ago but it was really expensive when I bought it brand new) Right now it is torn up on inside due to a much needed overhaul and cleaning on the inside(as i use to be a smoker but not anymore) And the Hood is also smashed up due to a hit and run. I will post some pics in the members section soon(when I get my camera back) but this way you can see it turned from the thing it is now into a much nicer car!

nah I wish I did! I was parked around the corner from my house and a truck backed up into it(i am guessing) because there is a huge circle from the exhaust and big square from where the trailer hitch connection and then my hood is pushed up a little on the front side, I just really need to get a new hood and bumper.

Here you go. :)
You won't even need to paint it!

1999 Hood Daewoo Lanos SILVER 2DR MANUAL 000937011 $100 Payless Auto Salvage USA-AR(Rogers) 1-888-383-2002

This will need painting:
2000 Front Bumper Assy Daewoo Lanos GOOD COND,GREEN. N3884 $125 Barger Mattson - Nampa USA-ID(Nampa) 1-800-999-9076

Do not worry, shipping on parts is not very expensive; I have had to buy hoods, bumpers and whole front ends after having hit more than 1 deer.

Look for any other parts you may need at www.car-parts.com

Best of luck with your car. :)

if your talking about the SSV or Ocari (spelled wrong) they're just add ons to the original bumper so you wouldn't get another bumper with them.
