Voice recognition on navigation

I have a 2008 EXL with navigation. It works fine with one exception. I really don't know how to use the voice recognition feature. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I'll say something and the unit will do something else. Can anyone tell me what the voice navigation feature is capable of doing and how to use it? What does the back button do on the steering wheel?hid headlight kits HELP!!!! 1.
