ECU resetting for Lanos 2002

Post by dixy »

I found in How-to's a thread about resetting the ECU (remove neg. connector from the battery and switching on and off), but there is an image missing, so I don't know what is the final step.
Also, can someone confirm that this procedure stands for Lanos 2002, 1,6 and what impact does it have on other components (AIRBAGS first, because I heard that by doing this one loses airbags, also ABS and othes systems)?

I would like to reset the ECU because check light is on and diagnostics determined the electronic EGR valve problems. Because this part is very expensive in my country (We also have very bad fuel), the mechanic told me I can drive the car without changing the part. He cleaned the piece and remounted it, reset ECU via computer but the light came back soon after...

Thanks in advance.
