Installing a Taco

Post by capman5555 »

Hi all
Have just put Taco into my Lanos today will start from beginning as you can see in photo my Taco has 4 wires Black is Earth Red Power to acu Orange to Light circuit and Green goes to signal. First we removed the taco mount to the cover by the drivers door to find where to put the wires through then removed the cover drilled a hole for the wires and then removed the cover hiding the ecu got a wire coat hanger with some wire attached and feed that down the to pull all the cables through. Once we had done that we stuck the taco mount to the cover which we did using double sided bonding tape and found that we also had to put 4 screws in to hold it down because of a bend in the cover. We then pulled wires through which came out behind the ecu. We removed the bottom cover on the steering wheel so we could get to the signal wire which is white with 3 marker squares. The orange wire we hook up to the dimmer switch which is easy to get to all you need to do is get a flat head screwdriver in the groove around the switch and it should just pop out we then got our wire which is the yellow one in the picture and joined it with the brown wire on the switch. The earth wire you will see we just removed a bolt from the frame and bolted it there. The Red wire we connected to the brown wire on the main headlight switch and the green wire we hooked up to the white wire which goes into the ecu. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with have more pictures if needed
