Has Anyone Lowered A Leganza???

Post by Jesse18873 »

I think I'm finally going to attempt to lower my 2000 Leganza. Does anyone have any ideas of where I can get some springs? And will it be hard to do?

i did a quick search at the intrax website. they have some that lowers it 1.5inches all the way around for $279. here's their site. www.intraxsuspension.com
just search for daewoo. and after looking around for 5 minutes those are the only ones i could find for the this side of the pond.

Thanks Nick. Can you purchase the springs directly from them? And do you know how hard it is to swap the old springs with the new?

Can I just cut one ring off of the stock springs? I have an extra Leganza in the backyard with good springs on it.

Most people will swear against it, but I think if you do it the right way it wouldn't be bad. The right way would be knowing how to cut it, I'm sure things like heat from cutting could change everything about how the springs acts.

Also it probably wouldn't be as smooth of a ride as lowering springs either way.

I wouldnt advise it, there's accuracy problems then, getting all springs the same, and if you look at the actual springs, the coils arent all the same length, and they're different for a reason, If they were meant to be cut so they look more like half a rugy/an american football instead of a full one, they'd come like that, and they don't.

You also risk it moving and even falling out when hitting bumps...

you dont have to change the struts but since its apart its a great time to do so. why put old "throw away" parts back on, i say bite the enevitable bullet and get new struts

Why change the struts? I'd be more worried about stuff like the anti roll bar, the droplink bars, the wishbones and balljoints, or even the strut tops, not the struts themselves..

the car is from 2000, chances are it has 50k miles or more on it. struts are sisposable items that wear out. its a pain in the ass to take every thing apart to change springs or struts, so when you do one, do the other. that way you dont have to do it again in 6 months or so. but at that time you also change the strut tops, ball joints, and outher tie rod ends, jus so you know you have a good front end.
