2000 Nubi Wagon Steering wheel jerks at high speeds

Post by delphis »

so my sisters 2000 nubi cdx has developed a strange problem to where when it is at 55-65mph and is accelerating the steering wheel will want to swerve back and forth and it feels like you are going to loose control of the car. My step dad and I jacked up the car and didn't notice anything strange except for a little inner wheel ware on the driver side tire but there is no pull associated with bad allingment or a tire wearing down. The tire ware isn't even that bad just a little more worn on the inner part than the outer part. I was thinking it might be a tie rod or something like this, but I have never had any experience working on suspension with a FWD vehicle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

I would take her car in and get the tires balanced. If that doesnt work i would go for an alignment and new tires.

Check the lower control arm bushings. Under certain accel/decel situations, mine does the same thing. My bushings were trash at only 50k miles. Do you notice any clunking noises from the front corners of the car while driving? That is another clue that it is the bushings.

My friends did that and it was a bad ERG valve. He replaced it and the jerking stoped, but were not really sure why lol.

Ok, before spend a lot of cash verify the ARM bushing or Plate bushigs dont know the correct name in English. That is the weekest link in the nubiras, and you notice this in the Wheel. Some tines your sister can feel like the Steering wheel is lose.
