Noise coming from front right side....

Post by Dillon »

I have a noise coming from the passenger side wheel of my nubira every time i go over a small bumb or i go through a turn. The noise is a thumping sound, and it has me a little worried lol. I installed lowering springs too but idk if that has anything to do with it.

Any help would be great

THANKS

well can warrantied that is the same soud, but my car is making a noise in the same conditions as you said before. I check all the wheel parts and dont found any thig. Every time that I said "I will go to Junito's house to chk" the noise stop ... lol .. for real... If you find any thing let me know.

Tip: a wild a go my car have a noise, not this one. Took me two weeks to find that one of the horn speaker bases was a litttle broke.. and that stupid thing make a noise like if some thing was about to fall from the car.

check the control arm bushings... they are known to cause sounds when they fail.

take the wheel off and use a big screw driver and try to move the control arm sidways and up and down while looking at the bushing... if it is bad you will get a lot of moviment and you will notice that the rubber part of the bushing is deterorated.

I have the exact same problem. I have installed intrax lowering springs with the stock struts. I had loud clicking sounds coming from front and rear. Not all the time, but on certain road conditions would make noise you described.

I tightened the top shaft nut on all struts. the noise went away. But after a few more test drives, the noise started to come back. I think performance shocks would solve the problem.

I don't know, I'll have to see what I else I can find.

I for got to post back when i fixed the problem. The stock springs have a rubber cover that go's around the top coil. its glued on. if you dont put it on your new springs it makes the noise. all you have to do it jack the car up and slide them back on. Problem should be solved.

Oh. nice. thanks for sharing the info.

Unfortunately the rubber peices are already there and I still have the same problem. I'll have to check more into it. I think I might have damage the struts as the shaft was spun a great deal when trying to impact the nut back on.

control arm bushes, usually have tell tale signs of wear, they would be cracked or split, and also they may get age cracking like tyres do. If the have any of these replace them. They would also case ur tyres to scrub out quickly

Sorry Mocpac, i do not agree with u. Control arm bushes will make a loud clunking sound when worn. The metal inside the bushes move on the K-frame, caasing such a sound.

Another thing to check also is your bearing plate at the top of the strut. To check it jack the car up and turn the wheel left to right. If it is a bearing u should be abkle to hear a grinding type noise when turning the wheel.
