It's currently hanging out in the back garage with it's first coat of primer. A few imperfections, but not many

I wanted to pick up the paint for it today, but unfortunately, the shop I like to go to for paint was closed today. So... I figure it'll be hanging there until Monday. All I had to do to it so far was fix up a couple trouble spots and start spraying on some primer.
Can't wait to see how it will look once it's firmly mounted on the trunk. It does have a light box that fits between the spoiler and the trunk lid, but I have no plans of using it. Or at least not yet.
Also been thinking about what I want to use to cut through the inside of the trunk lid so I can make room to get the nut in it. I think I have that worked out. First I'm going to do my VERY BEST to get it as centered as possible (symmetry is key). Then I'll mark off my holes and drill down through the top of the lid. Then I'll have to open up the inside hole somehow (the part I haven't decided how I'll do yet).
Any suggestions or opinions about how far back on the trunk it should sit?
