I was talking to a friend today who said they use Brasso metal polish to resurface the clear plastic screens of the radios they work on when they get scratched.
So, thinking about what Brasso is, it is a very fine abrasive in a liquid form that is used to buff surfaces smooth.
I tested the Brasso on one scratched area on my car and after rubbing it for a few minutes, it seemed to disappear.
After I was done, I wiped the Brasso off and then used car wax over the area and you could not see there was ever a scratch!
With the first scratch being removed and it shined up so well, removed all the rest of the scratches from the car and it looks SO MUCH BETTER!!!
Remember, this will not polish out deep scratches that are through the paint, but it will clean up where the paint has been rubbed where you can see a change in the surface of the paint.
Try it on a few places on your car and see how well it does.
** I also polished the plastic headlight colvers of my father's van where the plastic had become dull and cloudy. Now the healights are clear and bright again!

If the plastic is turning yellow all the way through, this can not change the colour of the plastic back, this can only polish the surface.
Also, you really have to rub this for at least 10 minutes.
If you have a buffing attachment for an electric drill, I suggest you use it.
Set the drill to a low speed so that you do not spin brasso all over yourself. If you do use the drill, wear old clothes because it will stain them and use eye protection; the Brasso would not be nice to get into your eyes.
It worked on my father's van because only the surface of the plastic had discoloured and had fogged.
