Aiming Headlights.

Aiming Headlights.
I saw, I tried, I failed. My headlight position is out of wack, tried turning that screw in the back to no avail, maybe I didn't turn it enough??... Any words of wisdom on how I can get back to seeing the pedestrians in front of me instead of seeing them flying over the hood of my car... LOL.
Help!

Hold a spot light out your driver's side window as you drive.

Umm .. try turning it some more.
The directions and pictures of how to adjust them are in the owner's manual.
If that doesn't work, try a large hammer.
I need to adjust mine, too. My lights are pointing up in the trees and everyong thinks my low beams are my high beams.

Did you read the directions?
I read this in my Lanos owner's manual. It should be pretty close to the same in the Leganza manual, but I will have to go read.
This is from memory after reading it once:
With the headlights turned off and in the day light, you will not see it doing anything, no matter how much you turn the adjuster.
You have to be on a completely level surface where ther is a wall in front of your car that is at a right angle.
With the headlights turned off, locate the dot in the center of your headlight bulb reflector.
Use a tape measure and a stick to measure exactly how high that center dot is.
Use that distance from the ground to the center dot measurement to mark on the wall.
Make a level horisontal line across the wall.
Turn on the headlight on high beam.
Adjust the beam so the top of the light pattern is on the bottom of the line you made on the wall.
When the light pattern is adjusted to the bottom of the line on the wall, then your lights are pointing properly.
Check out your owner's manual and follow the directions.
