Some power steering noise normal?

Since I've had my lanos the power steering makes kind of a muted squeaky whine when you turn the steering wheel. I never thought much of it until a friend commented on it, then I noticed no other cars I'm in lately seem to do it. Everything on the car is louder than an average car though since it doesn't have much in the way of sound deadening. So is this normal, or is something failing very slowly? It's always turned perfectly smoothly.
