dash question....

for about 3-4 months now i've been trying to wrap my interior including dash, door panels...everything in crushed velvet. i was doing good, then everything came to a sudden hault. over top the guages the fabric is sagging so bad...i had to tear it off b/c it looked horrible..lol does anyone know in the maryland pa area where i could get it done professionally...im so frustrated with it i cant do it anymore...lol if anyone has any suggestions id appreciate it thanks!!

just make sure ya use 3M headliner adhesive spray.

I ve done all my interior it is in the Lanos picture album. It is a hard job but it can be done...if you come up here maybe I can help lol

What kind of backing does your material have??

Ideally it should have a rubbery texture to make a good bond.

If the back is crushed velvet like the front your going to have a heck of a time with it.

Basicly if it's a hairy material you might need to bond something to it such as a stretchy slightly rubbery material.

I sell this Latex Glue that is specificly meant for fabrics... I wouldn't be surprise if the local fabric store could supply you with something similar.

The Latex Glue binds the matrix of the fabric together and ends up being just like rubber... but be warned... don't get it on your clothes, rug or furniture because it will never ever come out (been there done that... the little rubber spot is still on the love seat 8 years later)

I guess you could allways try to find another crushed velvet with a strong backing material but the odds of matching up colors are slim.

I'd send you some glue but we aren't in the same country.... and I have a feeling the border guys wouldn't like the looks of this glue... it has a very high ammonia concentration.... could look like something evil to a customs agent.....it looks like milk but stinks like ammonia.

Hey! That sounds like some of the stuff they tried to feed us in the cafeteria when I was in high school, but they called it meatloaf!! LOL :P
