Alternator not charging enough.

Post by kroz123 »

Hey guys I think I need a new alternator.

My electrical system reads 13.5 to 14 during the day with the A/C off, with A/C it reads 13.5 then goes to 13.1.
And at night it's even worse.

What you guys think I should do?

I was thinking about getting one from an Epica (Suzuki Verona).

Mines 90Amp.

I also have an Optima yellow top battery 1 1/2 years old.

All advice would be highly apreciate it.

Check out the belt.

Also, check out cables from alternator to battery.

You are supposed to check how the belt is tightened.

You are supposed to check how the belt is tightened.
Mines only one belt, and the tightening part is the tensioner

Any new belt will stretch after ten minutes of engine running and must be "re-adjusted"

Check the battery, if its got a dead cell it will affect the alternator coutput.
What's the voltage of the battery after its been stood for several hours?
