Wheel experts

I'm fitting a widebody kit on my car... well I'm going to attempt to run 17x9" for the track and am thinking a +35 offset would be best. I wanna run 16x8 on the street (acutally would like 16x8.5 but there arn't enough choices). What do you think my offset should be for 16x8 wheel?

Currently I'm running 17x7.5" w/ +45 offset I have small amounts of camber but plan on making much more...probably -2.5 front and -1.2 in the rear. I dont think the wheels could be pushed in anymore with that amount of camber. Also I'd like to push the wheel out as much as possible.... even a rough guess for offset would help. I'll probably pick up a spare wheel from somewhere first to test fit so I get a perfect fitmit.

Also I'm having a hard time understanding wheel offset...I think I do... then I wanted to double check that I did and the more I read the more confused I get. Wouldnt a lower offset wheel stick out of the car more?

I'm not an expert, but I thought that the higher the offset, the farther the wheel will stick out...

A lower offset means whells are further from the car. Offset is in milimeters.

well the WTCC car runs 17x9
