Lanos / Aveo rear bracing...
Completed the work for a VW... now it's time to do it to a Lanos...
Stops toe changes due to flex. Original design was a little cheesy, but this one turned out nice.
Would Lanos/Aveo guys buy something like this?

lanos guys that live in Egypt would probably pay more than what our lanoses cost to get this thing shipped to here
it is a great idea man... i might be intrested in doing that to my car in case i did swap a 1.6 DOHC or turbo my current 1.5 SOHC as i frankly think that our stock suspension is too soft to perform at high speeds.
again i say this looks very very nice and solid work man... keep it up.

I figured I'd post an explaination of what this does (already had 2 questions, haha).
When in a high speed turn, the outside rear wheel on a trailing arm suspension (like the Lanos, which is a quasi-trailing arm) wants to go straight instead of follow the curve. When you apply the gas and the weight shifts to the rear, the car follows the direction of the wheels. When your rear wheels kick out instead of following the lines they're supposed to follow, you understeer terribly.
With this kind of bracing, you'd looking at a projected 200% stiffer rear end. In conjunction with a secondary bar and a sway bar, you could have upwards of 500% stiffness over stock... meaning you could hit higher speeds without understeering.

i have noticed this the other way round... i got this nice open left turn on the way home, when this turn is a bit wet and if you are fast enough a simple lift off will cause the car to over steer.
ok it is fun to do that but on higher speed and maybe in an emergency setuation this could be dangerous... will those braces help cure that effect?

When wet, there is limited traction, so when teh weight transfers to the rear and the friction isn't as high as it could be, you can oversteer there. This won't help that situationMMamdouh wrote:i have noticed this the other way round... i got this nice open left turn on the way home, when this turn is a bit wet and if you are fast enough a simple lift off will cause the car to over steer.
