As some of you know, my front suspension was making a knocking sound, and it was determined to be a bad KYB front strut.
I replaced the strut with one I bought from ebay and it was great, but while I was under the car, I noticed the outer right tie rod end felt loose.
After reassembling everything, I took the car for a wheel alignment.
The garage said they could not do the alignment because the tie rod end was too warn out.
I picked up the new tie rod end on Friday and will replace it as soon as I can.
While the alignment has been out, ANOTHER set of front tires has warn out and I have to buy those too.
I hope that it was only an outer tie rod end that needs to be replaced.
So ... while the site was down...

Why didn't you "carpet bomb" the suspension and replace everything ??? .... tie rods, ball joints various bushings..... they aren't expensive... way way way cheaper than a set of tires..... and it's a job that could have been completed in a single day.

Because I don't have a real job right now while I'm in school and can't afford anything more than I absolutly have to.
I would LOVE to replace everything, but that will have to wait a little longer.
Also, if you could find somewhere that has tie rod ends for less than $42US each, I would REALLY allreaciate it.
I called at least 10 different places within a 150 mile radius of where I live and that was the best price I could find.
I got a lifetime alignment from Firestone, so I don't have to pay for that any time I take it in.
As for tires, thankfully the local tire place I usually go to will price match with TireRack.com with Fuzion ZRi 195/50/15 tires at $51 each.
