funny feedback from the steering
hi guys, today i noticed this funny thing with my steering wheel.
when i am going some 100 ~ 120 km/h and brake hard the steering wheel wonders a little to the side... their is no one side in particular but it does turn to one side a few degrees then goes back to the other side.
this only happens if the braking is hard, speed it high and i think that involves rough road surface as well.
this is not a wobble in the steering it is just wondering from one side to another in no particular order... the steering wheel can't just stay i nthe middle position in this particular situation.
what could that be?? is it something in the control arm bushings or ball joints? is it my front shocks?... my suspension and steering system components are 7 years old and done 69400 kms so far except for the tie rods, those are 1 month old and done 1000 kms.
what do you think guys? need you help.

i am planning a brakes fluid flush and full caliper check soon... will see what will turn out of that.daewoomofo wrote:it almost seems to me that it could be an uneven wear of your brake pads? one side will bite better than the other, id say chek your pads and rotors, also see if your calipers are moveing easly, see if ther is any corrosion on the piston, hope this helps

1- will do that tomorrowdhd wrote: check the tires air pressure
check the wheel aliment
check the brake rotors
2- alignment checked at 3 different shops already and it seems OK.
3- rotors are in perfect condition... only 12350 kms on my Brembo's.
i also got feedback from Zikas that this is normal when switching to wider tires... he got 205/45/16 on his Nubira.

i was driving a corolla with a blown wheel bearing, and that would unexpectadly hook left and right, although due to the noise you would well and truely know if it was a wheel bearing

so far the "funny" feedback went away after the shoks were replaced... seems that the lack of grip due to the worn shocks caused that, further testing will be conducted to confirm that.
