aggressive alignment?

Post by kinkyllama »

Well i messed up my alignment really bad the other day.. hopfully its just the alignment. I did a U-turn in a dark area and thought the other side of the street had a nice slopped cruve when it really had a gutter i hit pretty hard, bent my rim and totally screwed my alignment.

Anyways i figured while i was at it i could get an aggressive alignment for road courses. What should i have the shop tune everything too? This car also has to be street driven; alot. So I dont want it to cause any strange wear on the tires on street driving... but i dont mind rotating my tires more often either.

um... no more than 2 degrees toe out, that might even be a handful on straight lines

I get up to about 110mph now with the car.. before my alignment will change i should have the turbo on there. So it needs to be stable too

then go .5 - 1 degree toe out, although you want that to by dyanamic (car in motion)...

1-2 degrees out should be fine

toe out will make the car better on corners but less straight line stability... it is better for racing for sure.

also what you are asking for is hard to accomplish... look at it as a big mesh of compromises... the more you go one way the other stuff goes the other way so better steering will have less straight stability, better camber will have funny tire wear and so forth.

in the end it depends on what you really need and what you are willing to scarifice to get it.

Well I bent something.. the alignment shop isnt sure what though. So i have to take it to a chassi alignment shop to see what of two things are bent. They said if only one of the two things are bent then it'll be either $1000 or $2200 to fix. My Dad said he should be able to get the business to pay for it though.. :D If not there goes my LSD or body kit :(

WTF?? 2000 USD?? you can get a full koni suspension (shocks and springs) a turbo kit and 17" rims and tires for that much if you were in Egypt.

fixing cars is very expensive in the US so probably why you throw away cars when they snap timing belts and all.

i would have shipped you the parts you want (probably a control arm or a link or so) but shipping costs would be colossal as we live a bzillion miles away :( ... anyways i am glad you are OK and i hope you get the Woo back and running ( i know it a Forenza so i guess it is more like a SuzWooki)

Front right... he said either the control arm or something else.. he told me the other thing but its slipping my mind right now. Anyways he said the control arm would probably be 300usd and the other would be around 1500usd and labor being around 500.
