How different are they? Are they exactly the same or not close at all.

What exactly did Porsche have to do with our suspension? I remember reading an article that claimed Porsche helped develop it.

Yep, there's an article on autochannel.com (something like that) that states that Daewoo worked hard for 30 months with German and Italian companies. Porsche helped develop suspension.

Yeah so my question is, if Porsche helped then why do we have the same set up as an 87 Lemans?

Maybe they helped with the damping and spring rates. That is a science onto itself. For instance, we have a Mk3 Astra GSi which had terrible reviews for handling versus the Mk2 Astra GTE, which most people think is the poor spring/damping rates in the factory suspension. Now put on proper rally suspension, and the Mk3 outhandles the Mk2 by far.
