Adding a custom power sunroof ... just an idea
What car has a roof curve similar to the Lanos hatch, but also has a power sunroof?
I have had the idea of going to the junk yard and buying the roof and head liner from a car that has a power sunroof.
After getting the roof to my friend's body shop, cut a rectangle out of the roof to include the whole power roof section.
Cut a rectangle that matches the size of the power sunfoor section and then weld the new power sunroof into the roof of my Lanos.
Additional strengthing braces can be added to the inside of the roof as needed.
To make the headliner match, cut a rectangle out of the headliner with the sunroof hole, then cut a matching size rectangle out of the Lanos headliner, then glue the two headliners together with a strengthening strip all the way around the seam on the inside of the headliner (the side toward the roof) and then cover the whole headliner with a new piece of cloth to match. That way it looks like a normal headliner.
Any ideas what cars have a similar roof curve that also have a power sunroof?
Thanks!
Cliff
