The first or second option color matched to the car would look really good and very clean, whereas if you leave it black, the thing would look like an afterthought added to your car.

Damn I hate post 2001 Lanos Sedan Lights!!!

Tell him to do a photoshop of the black color the same silver color of his car, I think that would look really good, and could be accomplished fairly easily.

That looks good, even though photoshop can perfectly match the color, but as far as tailight mods, thats the way to go.

I think if you paint it to match the body, don't make a light cover, mask off the parts that you do not want to paint and then actually paint the lights.

That way, there is no thick cover and it will blend into the body a lot more smoothly.

that's exactly what we want to do but you know it is hard to take off the paint and have the tail light in perfict condition (paint thinner will eat the plastic and leave dim surfaces) so we are trying to see what fits best on the car using pics so that we don't have to remove the paint if we didn't like the result.

actually the guy tried the option in the second pic using paper sticker... the idea was cool but the finish of the job sucked big time... after one day the edges of the paper mask was already comming off.

try to find someone that can draw really good and accurately and then take it to a vinyl place and see if they can make one in a vinyl sticker. i just thought about that but the thing is to get it to match up really good.
