Lowering Springs --> 360 Dynamics vs Intimidator

Post by PrecisionBoost »

Wow.... I just noticed the pricing for the Lacetti springs in the intimidator forum

Yes... I'm sure you all know I'm a fan of 360 Dynamics but check out the difference in price.

Apex springs are equal quality to Eibach in my opinion and way better than H&R

Intimidator H&R  $390 USD ( plus shipping from Korea??)
Intimidator Eibach  $420 USD ( plus shipping from Korea??)

360 Dynamics Apex Springs  $268 USD (shipping from Canada)

This is exactly what I'm talking about when I say Tom is doing it right by going right to the source on these things.... I checked into Apex springs last summer and they were going to cost me close to $400 USD plus shipping from Germany!!!

If you had ordered before Jan 10th he was going to drop another 10% off that price.... which means the springs were running about $240 USD per set.

Man.... that is a crazy cheap price on springs!!

but aren't eibach lowering springs for a lanos only like $185 or so? sure they only lower it by 1.2 and the 360 dynamics lowers it by 1.7. i guess it would be worth it.

question though. since i have 17's and they rub with too many people in my car whenever i hit a bump will lowering it by 1.7 just make it worse? i would think it would. but then again i'm thinking about just grinding down that quarter inch flap.

just figuring out the best option for me.

Im glad Tom is really smart about what he is doing. It takes a shit load of work to do what hes doing and most people never get anywhere.. except maybe bankrupt

I put 17s on my forenza and lowered it 1.2 inches ive had as many as 6 people in the car and havnt had many problems. It hasnt rubbed but got really bouncy... yeah the cars are different but that surprises me. Id suggest if you decide to lower it be very very carfull when loading up the car.

I have a nubira, so my car is like yours or so so. Well a jaive a Jamex lowering spring a lower my nubi like 1.2 rear en 2 or so on front, my car have 17" wheels. And I haven't any problem, no bouncy car, no rubbed, and no problem when have the car full with people.

The guy who sold me my wheels (he have a civic), he have lower springs and small shocks. The car can even pass a bump without rub de tire. He change the wheels for the original 13"of the honda.

Final thought, if you gona use big wheels don't drop the car to much. So 1.2"os ok for 17" wheels, if you gone use small wheels (13"14" 15") 1.7 or more is ok.

And I still think that the price is good.

its a bad idea to order from korea especially after seeing their prices!.. my go i was looking into getting some coilovers for the epica.. deathwind said that guys there use tein basic ... so i guess whats the harm and go searching all i find is a tein basic coilover for 1,600,000WON thats nearly 1700USD excluding shipping!!!!! (btw tein basics should cost around 750$)
thats freaking insane! my friend is getting tien coil overs for his 350Z and its costing him that incuding shipping!

edit:- btw the coilovers are not from intimidator.. it was from some other site.

Tom mentioned that he was negotiating some pricing on headers with a manufacturer right now.... I think he will be able to beat that price once he puts the money together to be able to purchase them in larger quantities.

The more he buys the better the discount and the better the price we all get.

Sure it's nice to have several diffferent companies to choose from but in the long run purchasing from a single company gives the best discounts.

Is he also purchasing headers for Lanos? Because I really need a new header this upcoming summer. Under $320 would be just awesome.

I don't want to speak for Tom, but I think he was looking into both Turbo headers and regular headers.

Tom's in Toronto for the next week so I'm sure he will comment on his intentions sometime later next week.

Hopefully he won't be too annoyed with me telling everyone that he's working on several different deals.

From what I've seen he will eventually have access to every known performance and stock part for all the Daewoo Vehicles.

Turbo kits, Fuel management, performance heads, performance camshafts, intakes, headers, turbo manifolds, exhaust, rims, suspension, braces, brakes, body kits, add on body parts, accessories, seats..... the list goes on and on.

It's just going to take some time for him to make the stock purchases and set up the individual distributorships.

The more you guys buy off him the quicker he will be able to get this stuff in and the cheaper it will be.
