How much are they and how much can they improve your time?

Ive heard all sorts of things and i dont know anytihng about them.

Also, is it better to have more rubber (smaller rims) for drag racing? less bounce or something

the higher the profile of the slick, the more the side walls can wrinkle (bag up) and you get better traction. They are not good for cornering. On the other hane the stiff sidewalls of low profile tyres make them bad for traction but good for corners

the only problem with bigger rims for drag is that you have more weight and that means take longer to get to speed

with some 13" or 14" magnesium rims the car would have no problem spinning them, thats if they make them for cars

i dont know where you live but when i go back to my home town every now and then i see tons of honda civics with thier "nice" rims in the back and light cheap aluminum rims about 13" with lots of rubber on the front, thats because rubber is cheap for small rims and small rims are way lighter

Unless you have some serious power slicks probably wouldn't do you much good....you need the power to spin them hard and warm them up.

I read that smaller rims are also better (besides the obvious, less weigh) cuz you can get more rubber, which doesnt allow the car to hop as much and bounce, so it stays on the street better.

a smaller rim means that you can have a tyre with bigger side walls on it but still have the same rolling radius. The tyrewall absorbs some of the shocks your suspension doesnt, but sidewall flex means they arent as great for corners. Have you ever wondered wht F1 cars roll on 12's? Its because they have sich limited suspension travel. The get more cusion from their tyres from their suspension.
