rear view mirror, Plz could I have a quick reply

Post by lanosguy »

Hi, does anyone know how the rear view mirror is held onto the windscreen on a lanos as it came off my mum's car (she doesn't know  ) when I shut the door and I can't figure it out (unless it is superglued, lol)...any ideas?

You need the correct epoxy that bonds to glass.
It is available in auto parts stores and also stores like Wal Mart.
This should not cost more than around $3.

This is an example of what you should get:

If you look at the part of the mirror that sticks to the glass, you will see that a piece comes off the mirror and only a small metal part is actually glued on.

After the small metal part is glued on and it is dry, then the mirror slides onto it.

Some mirrors use a small locking screw to hold the mirror to the small metal piece.

hi, have got it on successfully, got some proper glue (not araldite) for the price you said (well, the UK version) and it is now stuck on...but it is now too close to the passenger sun visor, lol so it doesn't go all the way to the windscreen, but knocks the mirror, lol...if I pull it off, will it leave a mark on the windscreen?

well once its off it might leave a little mark but you should be able to get it off with a razor and some windex.
