Leganza suspension soft

Post by teteous1 »

Hey,

The suspension in my leganza is very soft and floaty on the front, would replacing the springs with aftermarket ones resolve this issue?

I remember when I drove the leganza back to my house for the engine swap, I noticed the same thing. It was like steering a boat round corners. You would turn the wheel in, the front would roll so bad and then it would finally start to turn.

I believe stiffer springs would help things. More than a strut brace which would have minimal effect.

Look at the king springs catalogue online and see if they have a listing or maybe talk to repco or pedders.
Either that or rip out the engine and put it in a lanos or 1.5i :D

Im not sure, they are pretty bad though.

I have found replacement shock absorbers, but i don't know if they will be any harder than what i have now.
I would like them to be stiffer than stock though.

Just ordered a stut bar a few days ago, hoping to get the shocks/and or springs soon though.

What would you suggest?

well... the OEM shocks are known to be soft... the KYB is a bit stiffer and the Monroe is even more stiff

i have the KYB on dad's car and Monroe on mine (both cars are lanos) and they both improved the handling compared to the OEM shocks without being too stiff or uncomfortable
