Motegi 18x8 can they fit.

Post by kroz123 »

hey guys long time you don't see me here well I'm still alive hahaha.
I need your guys opinion on a wheel I saw on the web, I wanted to know if they will fit without a problem of rubbing on the front, the website says that it fits soo.
I need you guys opinion on this and let me know what you think of it.

Here's the link:

Thanx in advance guys

Additional info:
My car is lowered 1.5" all around, the wheel I have now is 18x7.5" width and I rolled the guards on the back of the car.

I also saw a couple of websites that it can fit on the car soo I don't know what to do, cuz I really like this wheel

try and get a test fit...

i think with 8" wide you would have to do more guard work than just rolling... prolly have to flare the guards which would require respray

good luck though... think most people that have 18s have 18x7 or 7.5"

The fitting is not possible because I have to buy it first

well Benzino i wrote rolled but it actually cut.
So the gaurds at the back is like less then an 0.5"

when i said test fit, i meant try and find someone that would let you borrow or go to a wheel shop and pretend to be a customer and get them to chuck a set on to test... or whatever.

I still reckon they would need to be flared... i dont think just cutting the inside lip would be enough... the front would need to be done as well
i have 17x7" rims and i've rubbed the front doing a full-lock u-turn over a speedbump and my car isnt even lowered!

You don't put down which car you have.... it's an Optra right?

I fitted 18's on my Optra 5... but they were 7.5" width and 225 series tires... and they were slightly larger diameter than the stock tires.

Car was lowered as well.... 40mm offset on rims.... didn't rub on metal fenders... but rubbed hard on the inner plastic fender liner at both front and back

Which tires were you planning to use?

I meant to order 215/35/18 ( 23.9" diameter ) and ended up with 225/40/18 (25.1" ) by accident.... in the end I put them onto my Mazdaspeed 3 so it wasn't a total waist.

Your 215/35/18 are 23.9" diameter.... a full 1.2" smaller than the ones I had on my Optra for a few days so you should be fine..... but I can't guarantee it.

Normal driving was fine.... the times it rubbed were when I hit bumps and when I turned full lock right or left.

Personally I think you would be fine with these tires... but I can't say 100% because I did not have those exact tires to compare with
