6-puck clutch / 1200lbs press plate - feedback

Post by GsiTurbo »

Altought I only drove the car for a couple of days in total, so far, I'd like to share my initial feedback on the clutch.

For starters, I cant really much difference on the clutch pedal. It does feel firmer, but it is not hard nor incomfortable to engage - my Gsi uses cable-driven clutch.

Starting to move feels great. There is definitely less room for smooth transition, and the clutch grabs very firmly, but its very streetable. Gear changes feel much quicker and more precise - I give it 5 thumbs up, out of five.

I'm pretty sure this is the same clutch I've been running, so I'll add some comments in here too. Had it for about 2 months or so. Initially it was ALOT grabbier than the stock one, making smooth driving near impossible. But after a week of driving around it was much more manageable... I guess it needed some break in time. As for peddle feel, there is a huge difference to the stock peddle on an Optra. The stock one feels like mush in comparison lol.

So far, so good, I hope it continues to perform well :)
